Kona by Jono Pandolfi
Eight years ago, ceramicist Jono Pandolfi was teaching high school kids how to create cookie jars and birdbaths. His work reflects a delicate balance between bold, spontaneous design and meticulous craftsmanship and can be seen at MoMA, on dishes served at Eleven Madison Park and through his latest masterpiece, designing Crate & Barrel’s newest tableware line known as Kona. The line’s artisan patterns with broad ridges and plays of both matte and shiny glazes were inspired by Asian lanterns. 4-Piece Place Settings start at $36.95 and with some of more of Mr. Pandolfi’s luck, the line will have what we hope are more than 12 pieces in the very near future.
