Virginia Torres, known to friends and family as Vgee, is the creator and founder of Vgee Cosmetics. A New York native, born and raised in the Bronx, her natural ambition and talent led her to explore the joys of the arts. She got her start as an actress and dancer — she's been featured in various films and in music videos, most memorably as the principal dancer in the award-winning video for "Smooth" by Carlos Santana (featuring Rob Thomas).
On sets and in studios, she encountered the world of professional cosmetics. Already a great lover of lipstick, her natural creative curiosity was piqued by the range of colors and packaging used within the makeup industry. She became deeply interested in the formulas used to create cosmetics, but the more she explored the more she felt something was missing.
She soon realized that she could create her own line of unique cosmetics — makeup that would not only look beautiful and feel good going on, but that would also have meaning to the women wearing it. The names given to Vgee's products highlight the shared experiences of individual women everywhere: the flush of first love, the glow of success, the warmth of friendship, the patina of experience. Gorgeous color combines with stories from the heart to celebrate the women of the world.
